Who We Are

Who We Are

Officially known as ‘St Matthias Anglican Parish, Mernda’, we are part of the Anglican Church of Australia. In response to the tremendous growth in the Plenty Valley, Plentylife was planted in 2011.

We value learning how to live as Jesus did, and so that means we have a high focus on following Him in our daily lives.

As we see in Jesus’s life, rest is important for living life well. So each year, we take the month of January to recharge and don’t have any formal services during this time. This allows us to give our leaders and Sunday service teams a great rest for the year ahead. There’s always plenty happening and lots of people around, but gatherings are informal and relaxed. Our Facebook Page is the best place to see what we’re up to during January.

We value the leadership and training that Catalyse Change Australasia (formerly 3DM) provides in the areas of discipleship and mission, and have close ties to their work with the church in Australia. Contact us if you’d like to hear more about this.

“We exist for God’s glory to know, love and serve Jesus; walk together in His ways as we engage with our local communities; and pursue His mission of sharing the fullness of life with all.”
