On June 9th, 2024, there will be no Plentylife meeting in Mernda or Doreen. Instead, we invite all Plentylife members to visit other churches around Melbourne (or beyond, if you’re away for the long weekend). We hope by doing this we will experience two things:
- The benefits of worshipping with the wider church (the Body of Christ).
- Learn from how other churches use their buildings and pursue their mission.
You are welcome to visit any church of your choice however we have shortlisted several that meet in buildings that have features our Building Committee thinks will be helpful to observe in preparation for our own building project, as well as churches that have a heart for mission.
- St. Mary’s Sunbury. 9:30am and 5pm (young family focus).
- Uni Hill Church, Bundoora. 10am.
- Ormond Anglican Church. 10am and 6pm.
- One Community Church Blackburn. 10am and 5:30pm.
- Syndal Baptist Church (Glen Waverley). English Services at 9am, 11am and 5pm (click here for other languages).
- Wallan Gateway Church. 10am
- Resound Church (Knox). 10am
After you’ve completed your visit, we’d love it if you could fill in this brief survey to share your experience.
Some tips:
- Plan ahead.
- Check in with Plentylife people who don’t have access to a car and see if they’d like to travel with you or, if you don’t have a car, talk with friends who do and see if you can team up with them.
- Visit a church where you don’t know anyone. This will help you experience what it’s like to attend a church for the first time, without knowing anyone. We hope people will be brave enough to do this at Plentylife, and be welcomed, it’s a great way to experience what they might feel.
- If you visit with people from other households from Plentylife we suggest entering the church service separately to get a great sense of what it’s like to be a first-time visitor.
